Jennifer McKenna , President
Jennifer is a practicing attorney in Lee's Summit with the focus of her practice in wills, trusts, business succession and associated litigation. Teach People...Help Families...Change Lives for Generations is the structure of her business and is what she applies to to the SPF. She is life-long baseball fan and considers her role as President of the SPF as opportunity of a lifetime. Jennifer is married and has two teenage children that keep her very busy.
Linda Paige Shelby, Founder, Vice President
Linda is a daughter of Satchel Paige. She authored a children's book entitled, "Satchel Paige at the State Fair." Linda retired from US Bank Real Estate in 2017. Linda is dedicated to promoting the legacy of her father and the Negro Leagues.
Chaelah Jenkins, Secretary
Chaelah Jenkins is a board certified behavior analyst and Kansas City, Missouri native. She earned a master's degree in special education from the University of Massachusetts and has spent the last twenty years using her knowledge of special education and behavior analysis to teach academic and life skills to underrepresented children and adults. She also consults with educators and community officials to help those officials minimize the barriers to access some individuals face. Several years ago, Chaelah turned her favorite vacation spot, Gulf Shores, into her full time residence when she moved just outside of Mobile, Alabama.
Brian Lint, Treasurer
Brian Lint, CPA, maintains the highest standard of knowledge and ethics when operating as an accountant. He operates LSCV, CPAs with offices in Lee's Summit, Overland Park, and North Kansas City. Brian ensures the SPF is up-to-date with all financial regulations. Brian is a life-long resident of Lee's Summit. Brian's relationship to sports are too numerous too list here. He was a collegiate player and a coach and he very much remains a fan today.
Kelly Keefe, Attonrey, Sergeant-At-Arms
Kelly Keefe is a practicing family law attorney in Kansas City. She was born and raised in Utah. Kelly moved to Missouri to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Kelly quickly embraced the KC sports scene and its rich history. In addition to serving the SPF, Kelly is also a volunteer for Military Matters, a program that strives to fill the gap in legal services available to military service members and veterans.
Phil Dixon, Researcher/Writer Board Member
Phil S. Dixon is a road warrior, a veracious interviewer, and tireless researcher and writer who has interviewed over 500 players, wives and their offspring. His work provides for a unique perspective of the American and Negro League baseball experience . Phil won an SABR MacMillan Award (Society of American Baseball Researchers) for his excellence in historical research.
Susan Huss, Board Member
As a believer in the Gallup Strength Finders approach to living and working, Susan has used her strengths to achieve her dreams and the goals of those that she works with. Susan started her career in HR at Hallmark Cards and then Savofi Aventis, then spent many years in events management for large corporations.
Susan enjoys cycling, golfing, kayaking, gardening, hosting dinner parties, traveling, spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren,and is outdoors any chance she gets.
Tamara Putnam, Attorney, Board Member
Tamara Putnam has been practicing law for over 25 years in the Kansas City metropolitan area. She earned a four year athletic scholarship as a member of the University of Missouri–St. Louis NCAA Women's Basketball team. She is a life long sports fan. Two of her three sons play college basketball.She is long standing season ticket holder of the Chiefs and a Royals fan.
Sabrina Rogers, Board Member
Sabrina is an entrepreneur with several businesses in the Kansas City area. She has been actively involved as a board member of the Lee's Summit Girls Softball Association for many years. She is an avid baseball and softball fan. She is married to Clint Rogers and has three children. She currently lives in Lee's Summit. Her expertise of all aspects of the sport and her get-it-done attitude make her a valuable member of the SPF.
Lisa Houston, Board Member
Lisa Houston brings her museum and education experience to the Foundation. Lisa graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Textiles. She worked for the National Park Service as assistant curator at the Harry S Truman Nat'l Historic Site. Lisa, also worked for the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District. Lisa’s focus will be to utilize Satchel Paige’s artifacts to help bring his story to life for generations to come.
Carolyn Paige Mason, Founder, Board Member
Carolyn is the daughter of Satchel Paige. Carolyn retired from Examinectic Corp. in 2018. Carolyn is dedicated to promoting the legacy of her father and Negro League Baseball.
Pamela Paige O'Neal, Founder, Board Member
Pamela, is a daughter of Satchel Paige. She is also a lifelong teacher specializing in Special Education and Education with Children with Behavioral Disorders. Her goal as a board member and active participant of the SPF is to meet children where they are; and inspire them to carve their own path to succeed. Education provides opportunities for students to have opportunities.
Scott Wall, Financia Advisor, Board Member
Scott is a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Scott offers clients clear, straightforward advice and actionable, trustworthy strategies to become successful. He utilizes that same straightforward and sage advice as a member of the SPF. Scott also has experience in business side of baseball through his prior employment with the Kansas City Royals.
Dr. Clarence Simmons, Board Member
Dr. Simmons is a lifelong Kansas City resident. He attended high school at Bishop Hogan and
college, dental school, and his Orthodontics residency all at UMKC.He is a huge sports fan and supporter of the KC Royals and the KC Chiefs. He is a practicing orthodontist with offices in Kansas City and Lee's Summit.
